From Institute of Novel Technologies and Applied Informatics

Research at NTI FM TUL

Research at Institute of New Technologies and Applied Informatics has interdisciplinary character. It usually deals with the physical description of a natural or technical system, mathematical formulations, numerical methods and their implementations. Model development is directly intended on a given application ("tailored" model), in some cases, theoretical view on the model is also developed (for example convergence of a numerical methods, etc.). We solve problems mainly from the following research areas:

Contents

Science engineering

1. Environmental processes

Development and analysis of models of the physical processes, mathematical theory of the governing equations and the numerical methods used.

2. Biomechanics

Mechatronics

1. Piezoelectric phenomena (more info in Czech)

Modelling of resonance characteristics of piezoelectric resonators, thermal dependence of resonance frequency. Optimisation of resonator construction. Modelling of electric field in thin ferroelectric layers.

2. Processes in internal combustion engine

3. Construction analysis using the Finite Element method (more info in Czech)

Application of FEM tools for verification of properties of machine constructions and technological procedures.

Applied informatics

1. Computer nets, their protocols and services

2. Web applications and semantic web
